Are the doctors McCann guilty or not guilty... Well no one knows obviousley the family have given their full support but do they really know. Often they are blinkered and the last people to pick up on any little signs. Hopefully they are innocent but the truth will out . I think the verdict will be within the next 10 days and the longer we await the verdict the more suspicious people will become and the longer the hell will continue for Kate

completly guilty and i feel they have neglected there other children by denying them a NORMAL life they shouldleave the police to do their job and get back to doing theres they wont find maddie so why wreck there other kids lives
Hi dfward
Very difficult to know what to think about this sad affair.
I would hate to think that parenets wereguilty of killing their own Daughter.
They were negligent while out there on holiday and they have to pay the price for that.
One thing that bothers me is the fact it was reported in the papers and on the news that kate McCann gave her Daughter sedatives or painkillers. Okay, so at some time or another, children require pain relief but not on a regular basis. Seems the little girl was heard crying most nights that week for her Mum too.
parents were also seen in another village the night of the disappearance five miles away.
I am only quoting what the press are saying, which could be a lot of lies.
I don't think this case will ever be solved personally.
It's like a storyline in Eastenders. The writers are wringing it for every last drop.

I fear we may never know the truth, but the suggestion the parents did it is ludicrous.

Cruella.............. i agree totally.... when i was young , i am 51 now, my parents would never dreamed of leaving me on my own whiist abroad ..We would eat as a family and go out as a family and stay in as a family....and these days there are more dangerous people about
This all seems a bit strange to me. Firstly, they had all their children by IVF - so, if they so desperately wanted them, why would they kill one of them? Secondly, how come the so-called forensic evidence wasn't found sooner? If there's a crime scene, then surely it should have been taped off, properly searched, forensically examined, on the day it happened, not weeks later? They're doctors - I'm not saying they're innocent because of their profession (look at Harold Shipman), but their Hypocratic oath should kick in here. There's something weird going on and I think the Portugese police are clutching at straws.
If they killed her on the day she disappeared where would they hide the body?

There is no way they would be mentally able to put the other two children to bed and go out with friends as an alibi to pretend the girl was abducted.

The press suggest that blood was found in a car they hired 25 days later! Yet they must have been the most watched couple in Portugal at that time.

As I say. Ludicrous.

Their life must have been hell before, but how can anyone cope with this mental torture?
Just because they went through IVF doesn't mean they wanted their children any more than anyone else who was fortunately able to have children naturally.

As for guilty or not guilty ~ I have no idea.
Only one thing bothers me about this story.
When Kate McCann was questioned after the forensic tests were done, she said she had attended a few bodies while working in the UK before going on holiday.
She had two weeks to shower, did she wear the same clothes on holiday that she would wear to work. Don't get me wrong, I do not believe everything I read in the press and cannot for a minute imagine a parent taking the life of their child but you have to admit she has been giving some weird answers.
I read today that sniffer dogs can detect traces of blood on clothes even after the clothes have been washed several times.

If the parents are guilty, then with the attention of world media trained on them continually since Maddie disappeared, I can't see how they could have hidden the child's body for so long and feel it must have been disposed of on the night in question - possibly taken out on a yacht and dumped at sea. I don't like to speculate, but in this case it's difficult not to. I have my doubts about Kate simply because as a mother myself I find it impossible to comprehend her behaviour throughout. I know if my child had been abducted I would be absolutely demented and quite unable to speak coherently to anyone - let alone go for strolls on the beach and fly off for an audience with the pope. I sincerely hope the parents aren't implicated, but stranger things have happened. It's certainly a mystery.
I think we should wait before passing judgement, I think the Portugese police are cr-p, but as far as the Mcanns are concerned, its still too early.
Portuguese police accuse Colonel Mustard in the ballroom with the lead pipe. .... More Soon!!!
i really think that the "boring highly likely" scenario is more of the truth. She probably woke up (drugged or undrugged) and wandered off looking for her parents and something has happened to her since leaving the apartment.... The sinister version of events that she was accidentally killed by her parents I think is quite unbelievable and very unlikely. Yes there are some sad sick people in this world but theyre few and far between.......

BUT

On the other hand...... there could have been someone on holiday (or otherwise) there too who had befriended the mccanns and could have been watching, following, someone who said to them that evening "oh where are your children tonight" to which they replied theyre in the room asleep and alone... what an invitation for some sicko.......
I don't find it ludicrous that they have been made suspects. It is possible for a parent to kill their child, either intentionally or not, the fact that they are both doctors is neither here nor there. There is still no proof, as far as I am aware, that she was abducted. I find their behaviour strange and have done since day one. As I have said on another thread, who knows that Maddy was in the apartment that night? The people who went to check on them apparently only listened at the door!

Originally thought that they were guilty just of pure negligence, but as time as gone on its not out of the question however our blinkered media may say otherwise that something more sinister has occured, like an accidental death or something, i have always wondered just what the reaction would be if the parents were of low income or even different race, they would be castigated by everybody and not given the benefit of the doubt.

I would hope the parents are not guilty, but we really don't know do we, apparently the time frames that evening are all over the place.
On one of the 'find madeleine' websites there is an onlime petition for people to sign to stop the McCanns being charged with neglect.

What is all that about? I don't think I have read or seen anything in the news about them possibly being charged over leaving their children. Maybe that is something the authorities are planning to do, I don't know..but someone obviously does..unless they are just jumping the gun of course.

They have courted the press and gained maximum publicity , quite rightly so. However a poorer or lower class family would have had NO chance of the same publicity..you reap what you sow so they will have to take criticism on the chin. They dont seem to or look as if they are capable of doing any harm to their daughter but sometimes apperances can be deceptive even to those near and dear
I find it incredible that the police have offered Kate McCann a deal ~ if she confesses then she will only receive a 2 year sentence.

Would the police really want someone to confess to a crime they didn't commit simply to end the case? well it has happened quite a few times in the past..
Im sitting here with a lump in my throat watching them arrive home, even after all Ive said I still feel sorry that they return without Madeleine. Just seeing the wee twins, oblivious to it all, makes me so sad. It is gut-wrenching.
When you read Gerry's blog, he always sounds like the family are having fun over there, not as though they have lost the most precious thing in their lives. i find the whole thing very strange, some things dont add up, and i just hope for the little girl that the case is solved. and correctly!
i still think something is not quite right in all this and if they are found to be involved their lives will not be worth living
