Will the Muslims manage to get Christmas cancelled this year? I don't want to start making preparations, only to find out, that it has been a waste of time.
delboy, I am highly offended. Christmas is very discriminatory. Do you think any wise men came to see me in my cradle bearing gold myrrh and frankincense? They did not. It is one law for the deities and one for the rest of us.
It's not Muslims who cancel Christmas - it's the politically correct idiots who think Muslims might be offended by it, and it's them we ought to rally against since they are doing absolutely nothing to enhance community relations. The more we take notice of what they say, the more they'll dictate to us, so as a point of principle I say on with the panto and up with the fairy lights, and to hell with them!
jno, yes, you're right. It is still only September, but we only have to wait a month or two before hearing of school nativity plays being banned, and before shopping for greetings cards proclaiming 'Happy Winterval'.
Marvelman, as I said, Muslims aren't responsible for this nonsense. The blame must lie fairly and squarely at the feet of the potty PC brigade who, in reality, do more harm than good.
I agree Naomi. I've never seen a muslim or member of any other religion advocating that Christmas should be banned, toned down, or interfered with in any way.
What I have seen, is a member of an ethnic minority saying he wished his local authority would stop issuing stupid misguided PC policies on his behalf, because it was their actions he found patronising and offensive - nothing else.
That was just one person's opinion, but I'm sure many others feel the same.
I have to say (yet again) that I have never seen Christmas banned ~ in fact last year I took little Pippa to see Santa in a shopping centre situated in a town with a large Muslim population.
Christians and Muslims alike all stood in the queue together.
A lot of the problems have nothing to do with political correctness but everything to do with media frenzy.
Last year there were a number of councils who stopped putting Christmas lights up as they didn't have the budgets. As opposed to congratulating the councils for not wasting money, the media prefer to spin it in to "Muslims hate Christmas and want it banned".
Last year at a local school, a headmistress made a comment to her catering staff that it was 'a bit early' for Hot Cross Buns (it was February). This got turned into (unsuprsiingly by the normal Tabloids) into "Head teacher bans Easter"
Look, if you haven't started preparing for christmas already then I'm afraid its too late now. You wont be having a christmas this year, you should have started in July or August at the latest. So, dont blame the muslims, its your own fault for not preparing early enough.
Totally agree in this case it is not always the Muslims to blame. It is mainly left-wing liberal, school teachers and local councils who seem to get off on these PC issues.
It is because of such issues that make the indiginous population feel like second rate citizens in their own country.
Our politicians must be prepared to admit that the UK is mainly a White Christian Country, and that they are prepared to work on behalf of the indigenous population, and any other nationality that are prepared to intergrate totally into this society. And that they are also prepared to discuss racial issues, openly without the need to " walk on egg shells" in case they may offend someone
Let' us have fairness for all our citizens, no matter from what origins, and let's throw this PC rubbish out of the window for good.
