Women taking employers to court reaches new high

The number of women taking their employers to court has reached record levels. The tribunal system is struggling to cope due to the sheer amount of cases last year there were 240,000 cases. A large number of these were from female council and NHS workers. The rise has been put down to the no-win, no-fee law lawyers who promise to win pay rises and back-dated cash. What do you think? Is this something we should be concerned about? Or is good that these types of lawyers provide a service where a person never loses money?

goodsoullette, quit jumping the gun.
I am not saying women are inferior, i am saying that in some jobs men are more suited.
meredith speaks very true, its a shame there arent more women around like her.
Well done meredith for not being afraid to speak your opinions.
"I dont think women should get paid the same as men in some jobs"

Why the hell not? If they can do it then why not?

I'm taller than you. I could possibly be stronger than you. It doesnt go across the board does it Ben.
Ahhh, but goodsoulette, your not as clever as me :)
Hands GS a brick wall

You'll be needing that love.

(I haven't finished his reprogramming yet but I'm working on it).
No, MrBen5, you're not as clever as me.
Thanks for the wall, China.
Big biznis is hard. Once you find something that makes money everyone is trying to copy you. Big companies have to work really hard to compete in most areas, hiring the best brains and using the best strategies. A lot of these companies are publicly listed and accountable to shareholders, and these shareholders normally have a lot of say about who is running the business at the top and will kick out poor performers. It is the same even in stuff like football management.
If women were just as good as men at these top jobs, trust me, the market and canny shareholders would be stuffing as many womun in these jobs as there is men. They don't. The top jobs are mostly filled with men and the odd lesbian just to keep the PC brigade happy.
Men's reasoning is more acute in general because it is less clouded by social scheming elements. Just different types of brains, women are better social schemers.
Also, re: physical attributes, most men are fitter faster stronger than most women, by a LONG way. If this were not the case and there were significant overlaps then women would be entering lots of men's sporting events and competing with them on their terms. They don't.

Milk and sugar?
.....but thats not the argument Meredith. The argument is between men and women of the same capability, in similar positions and getting paid differently.

I've got plenty!

(And a very sore head).
I personally think that pay should be subject to the job not the gender, surely if a woman is employed, she is the best person for the job so should be paid accordingly......

however.....

I know as a mother and another on the way, in my job it will be difficult to give my 100% and therefore know that my boss will be itching to tell me to pull my socks up when I physically can't. I do a lot of travelling and visiting and carrying big heavy things in my job so I know i'm going to be as useful as a chocolate fireguard soon. So I can see the other side of a coin too!
