Why when Conservatives step out of line or are involved in some scandal, they are immediatly sacked or banished to the back benches. They are not slow to get rid of their leaders if the need arises also. Yet the same doesn't apply in the Labour Party?
Typical examples of Labour's support for their lame ducks, their sexual indiscretions and their dodgy deaings are, the continued support for Ian Blair, Tony Blairs support for David Blunkett, the Keith Vaz affair, and the ultimate crime of all, their support for their leader at the time, Tony Blair.

Surely the man is allowed to speak what he and others consider to be the truth. He actually may have received more votes for it in any election - that was before the Tories jumped to conclusions that this was politically incorrect.
If more MP's and prospective MP's would stand up and be counted then we might just have a more pro-active Government.
As for Enoch........he had the right idea. "Rivers of Blood" he said......well lets see nearly 40yrs on and we have gangs, drug dealers, drive by shootings and stabbings...we're getting there !!!

Getting rid of people willy-nilly is very easy to propose (and much easier to do when in opposition) but causes far more problems and difficulties when you're actually in government. I agree that there should be some punitive action when the person has done something visibly illegal, but if a PM has confidence that someone is doing a good job (and if they're not they shouldn't really be there) it must be difficult to deliberately cause so much administrative hassle.
They are not slow to get rid of their leaders if the need arises also
Mostly because since '97 they've all failed miserably... The tories haven't been knocking off leaders because of some kind of superior morality, they've been knocking them off because they've been unpopular or unsuccessful. That's essentially the same reason Labour got rid of Blair, and the same reason the Tories got themselves shot of Thatcher.

Jake .......yes...... "ME-ism" if you want to call it that.
So although you didn't answer my question, I can assume that "ME-ism" isn't a word used in your household and you WOULD be happy to let immigrants take over your residence and life in the name of the PC Labour brigade!
and Supernick .....no-one said ALL were bad but the discussion point here is if we had listened to Enoch 40 yrs ago we would have LESS of a problem now.

Jake
I laughed so much over my corn flakes this morning at Nigel Hastilow's resignation, that I had milk shooting out of my nostrils.
I don't care what this political minnow said, but what should be worrying for Mr Cameron is that within his ranks there are people who are so heroically niaive to come out with statements like that.
I wonder how his immigrant constituents feel about his position.
Silly fool.
