Is everyone enjoying as I am the Labour party squabling? I there no form of dishonesty they won't endulge in? I mean ok we had few brown envelopes and the occasional porky but we are amatuers compared to Noo Labour.! I pay homage to the masters of sleaze! Lets' hope plod goes in and nicks them!

Fair enough jake but he went to jail because he tried to cover up a small indescretion with ever bigger porkies and ended up in the slammer. His actual "crime" was to accept a few nights in a hotel. He was a plonker he should have come clean straight away rather than trying to cover it up, ditto Archer. Still not on my watch as you say, they wouldn't have dared with the Iron lady at the helm, old Mr Grey though, another story!

If there is only a grain of truth in the allegations, it is very damaging to Browns credibility and the public's perception of him.

I hope he is not going to be a Labour John Major - totally ineffective and with no control or authority.

I think he still has authority in his own party, Gromit, unlike Major (who had to demand 'back me or sack me' to his MPs). Dithering over an election was clearly his own fault. The other problems are more to do with external affairs - no way Brown can sort out the US mortgage market, for instance; and he seems personally to have rejected dodgy donations. Also, while his role in the affair of naming the Blue Peter cat has yet to be fully revealed, it probably won't be a resigning matter.

Well Gords now Got the Rozzers at his door, looks like he'll be the second Prime minister (albeit a pm without mandate) who'll get a grilling from the Mets finest.

Gordon clearly has no control over his party it was obvious Noo Labour was Uncle Tony and I tink he knew it which is why he didn't want to go.

I agree that a lot of the problems are not Browns fault, but it is the perception (however wrong) that it is, that is the problem for him. And the latest opinion polls (for what they are worth) give the Tories a big lead over Labour.

Oddly enough it's not the English that don't make the effort, I always back any of the home nations when England are out of whatever. When you guys do the same then you'll find us more accomodating. I agree we should stick together but as England we are expected put up with ritual abuse from our union "Buddies". Who seem to generally be suffereing from overwealming inferiority complexes.
