In order to ease the housing crisis, minister Yvette Cooper is proposing that anyone with spare rooms, should let them out to immigrant families.
She has promised that any income derived from this scheme, will not be subject to tax, nor will it effect any other government benefits.

Would you be willing to have total strangers living in your home, especially foreigners?

How much are they willing to pay?
But being foreigners they are bound to steal all of our family valuables.

Like the Charles & Di wedding plate....
NO, absolutely no.

The answer to this problem is to build houses all over the useless green fields littering up our country and making it an eyesore. More houses, more immigrants, more sewage farms please.

I'll do it if the pay me 2k per week.
Again no link and again cannot find the story on the net.

Is this one made up as well or do you have a link?
^^^ Yes, sorry, must have a link or a piccie.

You know it makes sense.
Hell...especially foreigners.

Good chance you'd end up with a nurse, and then your home life would be one long Carry On film.

Seriously though cambus, wouldn't the prospective room letter have the right to interview the person beforehand?

Why would them being foreigners be an issue?

In the 50s, would you have been a 'No Irish, no dogs, no blacks' kinda fella?
Isn't this regurgitating an old government policy of several years ago. Only the tenants have changed to meet the changing circumstances.

I have a 5 bedroom house, 3 of which would be available at a price of 1000 per person, per week. They are all double rooms, but I will only let to single females under the age of 35, where do I apply?

Typical local goverment website. Slow loading and with non-intuitive navigation protocols.

I've dug around but can't find anything specific to letting to foreign nationals.

I have two spare rooms and would certainly let to any immigrant, as long as he looked like Gael Garca Bernal

Nothing on that link to support the question. Did a search on the site and looked in the newsroom. There was a speech from 6 months ago about housing supply but here was nothing about letting to foreigners.

Are you sure you haven't dreamt this, or have you made it up?
will we have to pay for their housing information packs (HIPs)? I'm not going to be forking out for hip replacements if theirs get mislaid.
What a truely inspired idea.. we can swap recipies and stories while singing kum bu ya... Personally I think it's a winner.

Do you have a link to a form I should fill in?
Sounds like a wind up to me, but if it were true - No.
