I ask ANY d!ckhead who states it is OK to answer how healthy they are? I will bet my house that those who take drugs have other ailments and illnesses.
Most drug users have mental illness. They must have. Why would anybody put hallaucogenic (Sp?) or artifical stimulants in their body if there was nothing missing in some way?
Also, I strongly believe that ANY parent, driver, controller of dangerous machines and those in charge of peoples' welfare who fail a drugs test should be killed. Even this so called "harmless drug". Dope is as bad as smack in the long run.
That'll teach them.

I apologise Loosehead, I only scanned the thread.
I still think it's about quantity and predisposal to medical conditions. My aunt has a range of mental disorders, psychosis and pathalogical lying which fall under some sort of identity disorder and cant remember what it is, might be histironic identity disorder. She probably did smoke a few joints in her teens, but I did too, and I reckon way more than she did, so why did I end up the way I did and she did the way she has?
Heroin has a similar bad press on these things but many psychiatrists believe that drug abuse and the onset of mental illness are hard to distinguish and some users use to surpress the feelings they have in an illness. Please don't think I think heroin is a good thing, have never taken it and never ever would and I would chop off my arm before I ever took it.

I've probably smoked a couple of acres of weed and I've still got a strong grip on reality. It does have it's side effects, lethargy, apathy, uncleanliness etc but when treated with respect it doesn't endanger anybody. It can be a good laugh or can send you into states of extreme thought. I've had many a revelation on weed.
For the main part my sympathies are with paulos and I believe too what GS says about mental illness. I think with some people it can be very difficult to tell which came first, the mental illness or the drugs. Much the same way as those who fall in to alcoholism or other form of addiction there is usually a root cause.
However, in the interests of fairness, i do also think that 123 hit on something too regarding sink estates with young teenagers who are unable to moderate or rationalise their use. There is a difference between them smoking a joint and me doing so. But then perhaps that's back to root cause too? Escapism from poverty? I honestly don't know.

I also believe medicinal cannabis should be avaible to those who suffer pain that cant use other pain killers. I have gallstones and cant take asparin, or NSAIDs because of allergies. I won't take the paracetamol/codeine because it zonks me out, to the point that I wouldn't be able to wake up if the hopuse caught on fire and I have two kids to be responsible for and I can't go into hospital to get the diamorphine drip as regularly as I need it, as it's just plain inconvenient.
If I had medicinal cannabis avaible to me, for when I get biliary colic (not during the acute attacks as I dont think it would be strong enough) I could get a friend to nip over and help me with the kids and something might actually take the pain away. I couldn't smoke or eat whilst in this pain as both would make me chuck up.

I lost 3 stones in 14 days once on a survival course. I also lost about 2 stones when I was stabbed.
Did I get gallstones?? No.
Have I ever smoke weed??? No.
Is there a relationship?????? Probably not, but hopefully if the timings were right, your blood pressure may have crept up a little bit to make you now smile. Which is a healthy thing!!!!

Wardy m'dear, I'm sure you know by now that when it comes to opinions regarding news, politics, religion or society, I rarely think you're right!
But I've never questioned your intelligence. Just how you direct it which I belive is why we usually agree to disagree.
Incidently.. death to druggies might not have worked so well for your professed music tastes. A world without Bowie? Surely not!

The difference being though Wardy is you weren't a tubby, tubby lard arse stuffing your face with cakes before hand. I have two grandads, both smoked, one had lung cancer and drove, the other didn't have lung cancer and didn't drive. Was it the car driving that caused the lung cancer or the smoking?
