I did say after the last 2 that the pilce perhaps werent publicly linking them in an attempt to play down the situation.
I am afraid in all honesty I would be seriously worried if I had a teenager in that town (38K) -and thats not a kneejerk reaction.
So sad -words escape me.

There is a stretch on the A1 towards Newcastle which has killed 45 people in the last three years. Are they linked?
On the face of it no. Each car was travelling independently and probably each victim didn't know eachother.
However, they are solely linked by environmental factors. That is the mere geography.
As Bridgend is basically Hell on Earth, I propose that it is this environmental factor which links the tragic suicides.
For example when did a youth last commit suicide in Winchester or Horsham?

Chattirbank -even by your gutter standards that was crass. Please keep your gross comments to innoucuous posts on CB.
I know by ackwowledging your post you have achieved what you set out to do.
abdul -if the post was about deaths on the A1 -then your post would have been extremely pertinent -but its not -its about a completely different topic.

Of course there's a link. As has been suggested, geography-kids that have tried and failed to kill themselevs have stated lack of anything to do. They could catch a bus to cinema, but buses stopped by the time film finishes. etc.. Also, apparently a lot of them a mardy emo types.... and somehting to do with them all being on bebo. Tons of kids are Bebo, so I'm not saying this is responsible in any way-but with technological advances the kids can go home from school and wallow in their and others misery through sites like that. I can undertsand why Police would play down the link though. Bit of a vicious circle going on
I fail to believe that young kids can be that fickle as to kill themselves for being bored or because it's cool! I would like to give more credit to them than that.
The police are making a statement at 15:30pm, but i'm not expecting them to say much, it looks as if they are stumped too!
Oh dear, what a mess!

My nephew (who's 17) was talking to me about this a few weeks ago. This might be (and probably is) pure speculation, but he intimated that there might be a link to 'bebo' (???). Not sure what bebo is for (I think it's a social networking site), but according to his theory, the story going around his college is that it's an unofficial game of 'oneupmanship'...who can get themselves the largest response on the bebo site through their own deaths.
I pooh-pooh'ed this, until exactly the same theory was floated on a news broadcast after the last suicides.

yeah -I heard that as well sp1814 and somehow -regrettably-it didnt surprise me.
Slightly like the 'anorexic/bulemia' one where they would support each other and gave each other tips on how to lose more weight -very disturbing.
The Bebo theory should be easy to prove tho as it can be easily accessed.

this kid you speaking about andrea, must be a muslim or related. they are known for doing things like that.
it all starts with their upbringing. how instrumental their parents were in raising them. if they were taught good manners, the value of life, the value of work and respect, kids today would not be so clueless and senseless. not forgetting ignorant. parents spoil their children too much by giving them too much material stuff.
