How do you think Darling's first Budget will go?
What do you think he will do? I hate to admit it but Brown was a pretty good Chancellor, there again he did inherit an extremely strong economy from the Tories, even an idiot could build on that.

Anyway, I digress!! will today be good or bad for the economy and society as a whole?

So he told everyone.

But he sold half our gold reserves when the price of gold was at its lowest which cost us 2 BILLION pounds.

He also left Darling with the largest UK debt ever of about 35 BILLION pounds.

If you borrowed lots of money and put your family in debt of say a hundred thousands pounds would you be considered good at managing money ?

No of course not, but thats all Brown did, borrow money to make the UK economy look good.
Brown's sale of gold cost us over 1.5 BILLION pounds, read more here

Great chancellor eh !
From Telegraph, showing how AWFUL (not good) Brown was as a chancellor:

Brown also vacated Number 11 having chalked up a sky-high budget deficit at the peak of the economic cycle. Now the music has stopped, and the economy has weakened, the UK is in a far, far worse position than it should be.

Almost every other major Western economy used the recent period of strong growth to bolster its public finances. But Brown's incompetence means there is no room in this upcoming budget for the tax cuts needed to boost the UK at this difficult time. Prudent? The Iron Chancellor? Don't make me laugh.
So why were there no recessions.

We used to have one every few years under the Tories?

Black Wednesday poured 3.4 billion into Soros and friends pockets.

Are you seriously trying to tell us that Lamont was a better chancellor that Brown?
Labour will yet again bring this country to it's knees, they just don't do economics. We will then get the tories back , who will be forced to inflict pain on the UK taxpayer to undue the damage of this tragic labour term of office. We'll then tire of the tories and get labour back, because the dim electorate forgot how bad they were the last time..
I suspect the budget will be bad for all those who work or pay tax and another breeze for those who live on benefits.
Labour don't do economics?

How do you explain 11 years of growth in the economy?

Low inflation, low unemployment.

Come on then guys - stop just sticking in knives

Who was a more sucessful chancellor than Brown? - and back it up with some facts!
Well he won't allow inflation to reach 15% as she did.
Nor will he introduce a Poll tax as she did.

As CEO of Tesco, I have spoken with Alistair Darling following his first budget and congratulated him on his Green credentials.

I am pleased to announce, that with immediate effect (in line with Alistair Darlings dictat), all Tesco customers will be charged 5 for each Tesco plastic bag. However to minimize inconvenience all customers will receive a 5 rebate for each Tesco plastic bag they use.

PS - I also told Alistair Darling what a d*ck-head he is.
80 years old in September, so an extra 25p on pension.
If on right side of cut-off point will get extra 200 on winter fuel allowance. Free renewal of passport some months ago, and free TV license. My cup runneth over.
