Should this Mother be investigated by the British authorities when she returns to England, and are the rest of her children at risk?

I found the following statement rather hypocritical coming from a country that allows child brides.

Sex with a minor is considered rape in India, whether or not consent is given.

I would just say one simple thing. "What the hell a mother was thinking when she left a teenage girl on her own in a complete strange country with a complete stranger"

She has the financial means because she is on benefits and you know they get loads more than the rest of us.

Apparently the 'caring person who treated her like a niece' was a tour guide they met at the beginning of the holiday that the daughter had been having sex with.

I'm sure the fact that her daughter was raped and murdered whilst she left her with an inappropriate 'carer' will stay with her for the rest of her life, punishment enough perhaps?

I find the mother's behaviour strange to say the least. Her daughter was (apparently) brutally raped and murdered, whilst she on the other hand appears completely calm and unflustered by the whole event.
So much so that she can express a care that the man arrested may not be guilty (because she's worried about corruption) and also express a worry that she may be investigated for neglect. If your daughter's just died in such circumstances I fear that neither of these issues would figure highly in my list of priorities at such a time.

Apparently she sold a Pony partly to fund this six month holiday, an early Christmas present for her partner.

They would sell an occasional puppy or pony to subsidise the only other regular income they had, which came in the form of state handouts.

I wonder if the benefits agency knew about this additional income? They do now.

I personally believe that she sold more than a pony to fund these holidays. Six girls and 7th Mum. I do not think she need any other source of income to fund her holidays abroad and especially in India. May be she is more worried about not getting paid by the murderer for the services provided by the dead girl than the death of her daughter.

BB not everyone on benefits gets more than workers,some just know how to milk the system by having more kids that they can financially support as this woman obviously did.
I am surprised that no one has come on here yet and had a go at the woman for being a gypsy of Romany descent.
I do find it odd that she doesn't seem that upset at what happened to her daughter but who can say how any of us would act in her situation.

Misguided or not she put the trust of her daughter into adults. She has suffered a great loss and I can only admire the strength she is showing. I imagine I would be in pieces but she has fought to get this case reopened and she must have been fully aware that she would come under scrutiny.

I hope none of that vitriol was aimed at me because if you read my post again you will realise I was being sarcastic to those who are blaming the mother. The only thing she did that I disagree with is have so many children and expect the state to support them. I was honest when I said I found her lack of emotion odd but I also said I wouldn't know how I would act.(don't ever want to find out either).


I was going in clubs in Leicester at age 14 so I can hardly judge on that score.

She may not be the most responsible mothe, ok, that's a major understatement,but NOBODY deserves the loss of their child. It must be the single most painful thing in the world. Credit to her for making the Indian authorities for doing a post moterm.

So she's had loads of kids by loads of fathers? Taken them out of school? Left one with somebody in India? I know these are absolutely ridiculous things she's done, I don't condone them and I think she's been a completely crap mother, HOWEVER, surely she's beating herself up about it?
