'Happy slap' teenagers sentenced.

In my opinion this was a horrific crime. That poor mans life was taken by mindless 'yobs' who'll probably only serve half their sentence. How is this justice? And the girl who took the video! What do you think her punishment should be, is she just as bad as the 2 guys?

Its pathetic.7yrs.If the death penalty was reintroduced I bet they would have thought twice.We need stronger deterrents in this country.I don't blame judges because their hands are tied,They can only sentence within the guidlines and what with the prison overcrowding what are they meant to do.
I think parent are mostly to blame,If they were brought up properly,a majority (not all) would not turn out to be the animals they do.And there is too many right too,The schools can't punish kids.The parents are told you can't do this and you can't do that.
Look at the state of America.Where they allow children to divorce their parents.REDICULOUS!

I read this story last night and was also shocked at the pathetic sentences they got. After re-reading it I noticed they were convicted of manslaughter not murder,because of this there is a limit as to what sentence could be passed down. The real question here is why were they not charged with murder? ....yes the girl who filmed them is as bad as the boys who killed the poor man.

I have said here so many times that punishment here is not sever enough to make people think twice when they kill someone's father, brother or son only for the sake of fun. But honestly people take it wrong way. I know few punisments may sound barbaric, but these are to scare people. To make them think twice. Or else keep watching and these things will keep on coming.

life in prison and punish the parents for brining up such abhorrent children. Respect starts at home.

Personally, if he had killed my dad, he wouldnt make it to the court room, let alone prison. Id take his head off with a sawn off.

Im a firm believer that if you take a life you must be prepared to have yours taken in return.

What about that poor girl who was murdered trying to stop some misreble s*it from beating up her boyfriend. Murdered because she was a goth and was waring different clothes.
Its any excuse these days and the gits will get away with it. The girl doing the filming should have got more. Its bad enough doing the deed but filming it and doing nothing to stop it is to my mind even sicker.

It's not justice. Not only does it betray the poor victim and his bereaved family, it also:

1 Sends out the message that this kind of conduct is ok
2 Encourages more and more of the outraged public, like myself, that vigilantes doling out summary justice, is no bad thing.

This stupid stupid government must get a grip on all these problems before society collapses.

Of course in my mind the girl is as much responsible as the two thugs. in fact she should be more because I know these people do these things more to impress a girl with them. You even see these teenagers driving. When they have a girl sitting in the next seat then they do show off. If you do not stop someone from behaving badly then you are a partner in crime.

I just feel sad for the whole sorry situation! What is the world coming to? If you're committing any kind of crime 'drunk or sober' you should be prepared to do the time....descent time in a prison that doesn't have all the mod cons, half the time they go to jail for a holiday! *sigh*

The girl who filmed the crime was sentenced today,it seems the judge actually showed some common sense and sentenced her to a custodial sentence.
