McCanns (again)

Just been on the news that the McCanns are considering pulling out of the reconstruction in Portugal. Why? don't they want their daughter found, they are just blocking everything. I do not understand them.

Kate McCann said that it is too close to the first anniversary of Madeline's abduction and she will find it difficult, if not impossible to reconstruct that night, also seeing an a child 'being' Madeline would be far too upsetting for her. Under those circumstances I can see why they are reluctant to go back to Portugal

Regardless of all the happenings surrounding the disappearance of their child, a gut feeling tells me the Mc Canns knows something.

Yeah, they know she's missing and if they had stayed in the apartment, or taken the kids with them she'd be safe.

Folks - it's because the police have leaked sensitive emotional statements made the day after Madelain disappeared, causing a lot of pain and anger.

It seems as if there are others who do not wish to do a reconstruction, if the papers are to be believed some witnesses are asking for a private jet and others 5* accommodation.

If my daughter was missing I would do everything and anything to get her back no matter how painful.

If the McCanns do withdraw some will suspect that they have something to hide, and that won't do their cause any good at all.

The Mccanns won't go back because they alone and their 7 friends know the truth!!

Maddy is dead, killed by her mother for bawling night after night on their holiday, thus ruining what pleasure they could have!!!!

If everything was above board (assuming they are innocent) If I were them I would jump at the chance to go back so at least I would know that the case hadnt been shelved and forgotton about like a lot of missing children cases.

None of you/us know how we would react if a child of yours/ours was abducted. And why do the Portugese want to do a reconstruction after all this time. The McCanns wanted a reconstruction months ago, but were refused.
I do not believe that the friends would cover up for the McCanns if they knew that they had harmed Madeleine. It is a ridiculous theory. And when have the parents of any missing/murdered child taken part in a reconstruction? Another ridiculous suggestion.

but surely they would be happy to assist all the same though, a lot of these cases especially abroad get filed away and forgotton, wouldnt they be happy that its being looked into?

why cant actors play out the scenes from that night etc? that happens on crimewatch all the time.

no matter how traumatic a reconstruction can be, I know that if it helped find my daughter I would do anything, including a "traumatic" reconstruction.

What could the parents do in a reconstruction. Sit at the dining table in the tapas bar, and walk to their rooms at
appropriate intervals. What use would this be?
When our children were small in the 1950's, a holiday
would be one or perhaps two weeks in a caravan at
Mablethorpe. They were never left unattended. On the very rare occasions that wife and I went out together, a baby sitter was always part of the planning.

In my opinion the mccanns are only interested in one thing in this whole awful affair and that is to come out of it stinking of roses. They have said numerous times since they fled portugal after being made aguidos that they will go back anytime, yet they havent been near the place (as far as I have read)

I cannot believe for one minute they are considering pulling out the reconstruction - for nearly a year they have said they will do whatever necessary to find maddy. Also their excuse that its because they were 'deliberately smeared' by the leak about maddy asking why they didnt come when she was crying is just the most pathetic thing I have ever heard. How can someone smear your name when they are using words they themselves have given in a statement? I watched clarence mitchell with gritted teeth and clenched fists when he spun the maddy crying story. Oh of course a 3 year old asking her parents why they didnt come when her and her brother were crying was taken out of context....yeah alright !!

I remember reading lots of times that kate was prepared to take a lie detector test then I read that when she was offered one (by someone who does lie detectors on one of the chat shows I think) she refused. Whether this is true or not I don't know but seeing as how quick they are to threaten suing and I cant remember them threatening to sue about this then its probably right.

I truly believe the mccanns and some of the tapas 7 know a lot more about this than they are letting on. In my opinion they are guilty of a lot more than extreme neglect.

I hope with all my heart that the PJ can find out what happened to poor maddy and bring those involved to face the music and hopefully a really long prison sentence.

My views exactly pixi - what about the "we'll never leave Portugal untill Maddie is found" and the minute they are made suspects (which is normal - parents, last to see her etc) they shoot off, never to return. And Clarence making a big fuss about the "leak" and not anything about the leaving Maddie crying bit. I am really really suspicious of the whole thing.

I have been suspicious since almost from the beginning neti. The 'we will never leave portugal without her' thing was said just a couple of days before they ran away. The whole thing stinks and clarence mitchell should be totally ashamed of himself.....though I suppose for the money he is getting he could make his mouth say anything. I am also highly suspicious as to why the former head of the media monitoring unit and a spin doctor to boot should leave his regular job to be their spokesman
