Do you see someone of a different ethnic origin and think I'm going to get beat up/stabbed/robbed? Are you too scared to go into some areas of the town where you live because of the ghetto culture which seems to be rife in the UK? With Leicester heading towards being the first UK city to have a white minority what are your views?
Personally I don't share this fear of other ethnic origins. I'm just wondering how many of you other AB's do and perhaps why?

When this country becomes an Islamic state, and ALL women in this country become second class citizens as happens in most islamic countries, we will have the likes of people like you to thank for it. I hope it will not happen in my lifetime, but happen it will.

Um, how exactly do you expect a group making less than 3% of the population to take over the country?

Thank you all for your comments. It seems quite clear that there is quite a high degree of racial tension from people in certain areas, yet in others there is almost complete tolerance. I myself have the view that there are bad eggs in every ethnic minority or majority and it is unfortunate that it is usually that minority of people that give a reputation to the majority. Although from some of your comments it seems that the racist feeling comes from the majority in certain areas.

My experience of spending much of my youth in Chesham with a Muslim and Christian community has given me the perspective that religion is to blame for at least the initiation of these feelings. My refusal to convert to either side due to having friends on both led to many confrontations. I knew many upstanding people who were very religious on both sides and I also knew the less upstanding people who would taint the reputation of either community through their acts and reputations. The large gang of Asian youths that used to patrol the town centre and park on a daily basis caused a huge amount of problems. I also experienced an armed robbery conducted by an Asian and black youth when I was at college while working in an off licence part time. But I realise that it could just as easily have been a white youth or any other ethnic origin. Needless to say they both got 3 years + for holding a knife to my throat. Yet I will still refuse to blame their race they are just bad people.

Are you guys blind? Well....Even a blind guy can tell the difference between a Chinese, an Indian and an Arab by the accent. Why do you group them all together as Asian??
I can understand generalizing the term Africans or Europeans but ASIANS that is impossible.

I knew from the very beginning that this is about Islamophobia not racism. I can't blame you though.Wherever they are a majority they claim independence.

Do you think all Asians and Africans are Muslims? Asia has a non-muslim majority and they face the same problems with them there.

And so, this neatly demonstrates the inherent flaw in anecdotal evidence.

frankly the point of my question wasnt islamiphobic or christianaphobic or budismaphobic... i dont give a toss about religion but i hate it when people use it as an excuse to take sides or try and force it upon myself and others i know. can you think of anything else which has caused more bloodshead throughout history?
When the first Gulf War broke out, my friend's parents cancelled their family holiday because they thought it wasn't safe to travel. They were only supposed to be going to Wales.

The fear was genuine, but it doesn't mean there was any sense behind it.

I'm quite sure some white people in Oldham do feel scared. That doesn't mean they're thinking about it rationally.
******** go on a friday they will all be in a mosque and birdy 5 years......................................................
