Hilarious US Military c0ck-ups!
A B-52 bomber was mistakenly armed with six nuclear-tipped cruise missiles and flown across the US without the crew realising nuclear weapons were on board.
Regrettably, Robert Gates, US defence secretary, ordered the resignations of General Michael Mosley, air force chief of staff, and Michael Wynne, the air force secretary.

the story isn't new, Geezer, it was in the papaers months ago; it's the sackings that are new. There was also the small matter of sending nuclear weapons to Taiwan when all they'd ordered was batteries (when inserting the battery into your torch, always remember to have the nose cone pointing upwards). Definitely a sacking matter.
I know I am wasting my time R1Geezer, but... every despotic government in the middle east hates Aljazeera.
Did you know Conservative Government led to Aljazeera's creation?
The very well respected BBC World Service TV station in Arabic was shut down after the Saudi government complained to John Major that it wasn't saying nice things about Osama Bin Laden's homeland. The out of work BBC journalists set up a news station of their own which could not be shut down by spineless British politicians to please the despots in Riyadh.
Apparently you share the same opinion as the mad mullahs in Algeria, Bahrain, Iraq Saudi Arabia and Qatar to name a few of its critics.

thank god nothing unfortunate happened it does show the responsibilities of possessing nuclear weapons and the frailty of human beings (whatever nationality) to honour it...
@ R1Geezer you stated gromit was a muslim "where's your mosque" for what i assume you see as attacking the US or the west in general? Personally i think that story is a bloody disgrace and there is every reason to draw attention to the fact if there had been a problem. It wouldn't exactly matter how friendly those who made the mistake were, it would have resulted in a catastrophic incident resulting in enormous loss of life. drawing attention to that seems perfectly reasonable to me if you're a muslim or not and being a muslim doesn't make you an enemy either so perhaps you should try a little tolerrance and talk more on the story at hand rather than just taking a side and deciding anyone who doesn't agree must be on the "other" side
you then go onto state Gromit's a gold plated t1t for what seems to be an implication that by either the pointing out of this dangerous blunder makes you a t1t, personally i see it as a genuinely scary story, or that Aljzeera can't be trusted and believing them makes you a t1t.
Even if the latter were so, you didn't research the story to prove this assumption you just implied gromits a t1t for believing Aljeezra? or did i misunderstand? either way you owe an appology surely? or is it just easier to be ignorant?

keyplus, there is already an 'Islamic bomb' in Pakistan, and the Pakistani scientists seem to have spread the information around a bit. A Dr AQ Khan has admitted passing nuclear knowledge to Iran and Libya, though he has recently changed his story and blamed 'European business' and said he was being made a 'black sheep', which I presume is some rare variety of scapegoat.

Come clean, those recent posts in Suggestions were not in fact clever and witty posts designed to amuse us all, instead they were an insidious attempt to destroy the credibility of Answerbank and the Editorial team. Once you manage to bring down such a venerated institution, the British government, Europe and the USA will soon follow.
Daring to criticise the West and those who rule and live in it is not evidence of an analytical mind, with a health dose of scepticism - it is the work of our (sic) enemies
