We actually signed up for the Common Market, can anyone tell me why we need anything more than mutal cooperation and trading agreements? Is there any advantage to being federalised as we are now?
Sounds like you are stuck in the early 70s R1Geezer.
Mrs Thatcher and Mr Major signed us up for a lot more than a common market. They even took us into the ERM with disastrous results.
Mr Brown has been resolute in his resistance to adopt the Euro, so I am assuming you will vote for him at the next election, and not the tories who are happy to sign away everything to Brussels
We're not federalised, we aren't even truly confederalised. Subsidiarity is the key to the EU and if in practice efficiently I believe it would benefit every member country.
I'm with Jake here, do we really want to be stuck here on our own! It's like people want the benefits but don't want
to do any giving.
