Politics UK-USA
12 Answers
I've been watching the news and George Bush is doing thing to stay in the White House....its like a music festival, everyone is happy, banners, cheering. How come the Americans celebrate the Polititians when all the British do is accuse them of having affairs and think they are liars? How come the British dont hold big party type events when Tony Blair wants to be elected?

They know we know they fake sincerity at the best of times. Did you actually see the whole thing with his daughters (underage drinking anyone?) his wife and him, all introducing each other? The words cringeworthy and toe-curling spring to mind as being too euphemistic!
We're heading that way tho......WaldoMcFroog is so right.
The Americans wear their heart on their sleeves much more than the Brits do - plus, if my A level politics memory serves me correctly, the American candidates are allowed to spend as much as they can raise via funds for their election campaigns, whereas our parties are limited by statute as to how much they can spend (this may well have changed, or I may be mistaken - politics lessons seem so long ago now).
Also, we would just look ridiculous partaking in that sort of bruhaha - do you remember New Liars when they won the '97 election when they were signing and dancing to Things Can Only Get Better? It was just pathetic - B.Liar and his scuzzy mates looked like complete prats.
