I smoke 10-15 a day, I have cut down from 40/day in 3 years which is a massive achievement in itself. I have tried to quit before but here is what has happened to me.
I have a serious bowel condition which does not allow me to have the nicotine replacement gum as it will and has put me in hospital.
I cannot have patches as the 3 days I wore them I ended up back in A&E with a massive allergic reaction to them!
I was then, about 12 months later, prescribed Zyban. My liver nearly packed up on it so was forced to stop taking the tablet and I started smoking again upon medical advice.
Yes, there is Champnix but given the fact that several people have had major reactions to this it is unlikely I will be allowed to try this due to my mental and physical health history.
I cannot afford hypnotherapy and do not have the willpower to kick it cold turkey. I have also been told by my other half if I do it that way she will not live with me.
So for those that think it is easy to quit, you tell me how the hell I am meant to quit smoking??
