David Cameron's favourite 'think tank' Policy Exchange has said Liverpool and Sunderland should be shut down and called for 3 million more homes to be built in London, Oxford and Cambridge.

I'm from Bradford and to be honest the sooner they shut it down the better - if you come here you may already think they have. But as for living in the South - no thanks its enough to go for a few days mid-week to visit the theatre or an exhibition - but not at weekends and certainly no longer than a few days
many thousands go daaaaann south every year , they win the fa cup then caaaaaaant wait to get back up nooooooorth to let the whippets out and give their ferrets their dinner.

hadrian built his wall in the wrong place
he should have built it at watford

no gravy on the chips, you will be telling me they don't put curry on their fish next, heathens ?
South isn't just London you know

Most of it is quite nice actually.

As was I, trigs. I thought the ;-) was a clue. Maybe my deadpan sense of humour doesn't come across too well. My bad.

Although I do genuinely get irritated when Northerners - or worse still, certain Southerners - equate London with the South as if it's the be all and end all of this half of the country. It's like a big blemish on an otherwise delicious apple. I don't suppose anyone has a really big paring knife, do they?

Hadrian's wall? Nah, they just need to close off the outbound exits from the M25. Possibly a few barrage balloons to deter anyone trying to fly in on mushy-pea-powered airships.
No, they are not all as you describe, Steve. I never said that they were. But disproportionately large numbers of them are.

The association I made to drunkenness was meant to suggest that despite large numbers being unemployed, large numbers also drink a lot. It is my suspicion (though I cannot prove it) that many people are in both groups. I's the case in many parts of the country and not peculiar to Liverpool.

To summarise:

The place I live in is better than the place you live in.

Personally I think they should fill in the Watford gap and you lot can stay where you bl00dy are living like kings perfecting the manc swagger and making giant chips (smothered in gravy) that can only be carried on your shouders.... ;0P

Don't forget Wigan Health food.......Meat and 'tater pie on a Barm cake !!
Barn cake? Is that the same as an oven bun thingy?

Cornish pasties rule on the food front at any rate.
