There's little point in bleating on about her government, because for all the things she did wrong, New Labour, despite having had years in office, have not put them right. In retrospect - and it is in retrospect - I believe this country was much better off under her leadership.
I'm very sorry for her now, and indeed I am sorry for anyone suffering with dementia. Spitting Image may have joked about it, but in real life, it's a fearsome condition, and is nothing to joke about.

Personally I think ALL politicians are a waste of space and you could dismantle central government tomorrow and it wouldn't make a huge difference in the great scheme of things.
However I do feel sorry for Maggie, whether you agreed with her or not she was a strong, intelligent woman and it is sad to see her, or anyone, diminished by this cruel disease.

She was elected three times, but then again so was Bliar so it dont count for much really.
And as for the privatisation, if they had remained state owned like they should have, the bills would not be so high today. Just look at whats coming. The Russians are just biding their time to start a new full on cold war/ stand off with the west and they are safe in the knowledge that they can literally call all the shots. They will turn the heat off and we wont be able to do a thing about it.
