If they were executed why did the so called executioners bother to board up the doors and windows etc? Surely they would shoot the family and then just make their getaway??? It is more likely(in my opinion) that in an altered state of mind the husband has flipped, shot his animals and family and then boarded up doors and windows and then set fire to the house to prevent anyone getting hold of the assests he has worked hard to accumulate, then shot himself.

I'm massively intrigued by this story, the same questions have been rolling around the back of my mind for the past couple of days.
I actually said (out loud to nobody) "bet there's debts" when I first heard about it on GMTV Newshour yesterday morning.
It seems rather odd that the animals would be shot and set fire too - according to the BBC WWW, the animals were set alight rather than the buildings they were in (I'm not amused by the pics of their charred remains in the daily mail WWW either).
I was trying to work out if there was an alternative way out other than the blocked off with the horse box gate, anyone have pics I can scrutinise?
I don't think it was a suicide/murder. They were at a party and they were "relaxed and happy" according to other people that were there, would YOU be relaxed if you were planning this in a few hours time? I'd certainly be on edge if I was planning that.
Yes, he was in debt, but there were assets. All those cars and horses, not to mention the hangings on the wall in the pics of the inside of their home in the Daily Mail WWW, I daresay quite a few things that could be sold to at least make a start in paying off the debts.
His Company went into liquidation, but he was fighting it, wasn't he? He set up another Company "International" rather than "Limited". So a judge deemed him unscrupulous, that doesn't make him a killer and arsonist.
Hmmm, we shall see indeed!
