Hmmm, just been watching the news and seen some guy throwing 2 shoes at George Bush.How do these people get into these places? Shows how easy it is to assasinate someone.
Apparently though, this is the greatest disrespect in muslim.
Word has it that instead of suicide bombers, they may just throw shoes instead...

It was a good shot! I was quite surprised how there wasn't too much of an overreaction if you know what I mean, how George just stood there, well after ducking!

An interesting parallel I thing as I found it quite disburbing watching when Obama was celebrating his victory behind bullet proof glass.

It amazed me that the media thought it was a great laugh for some idiot to throw their shoes at the President of the United States, and yet don't find it equally funny when some other idiot throws a banana at a Black football player.

The video had me laughing. I think I Hats off to both-the guy for his audacity and Bush for maintaining his poise.That a single person has managed to throw a pair of shoes at the President of the USA shouldn't berate him any, should it?

What can we expect for such an act in a "civilized" society. He is being demanded a public apology.

AOG...throwing a banana at a black football player is a racist act,throwing shoes at George W.Bush wasn't. Also UK law would not cover any act of violence against the US president whilst he was in Iraq so you can't even compare the two things.

Both peoples are from a different race and both objects i.e. the banana and the sole of shoe are classed as insults.

My main point was that it is nothing to do with us Brits as this was an act of violence against a non UK citizen by a non UK citizen. I wouldn't know if the Iraqi journalist threw his shoes at George Bush because he doesn't like his skin colour or because he disagrees with the war on Iraq.
