it was delayed due to the social workers being sacked etc and the news relating to that

Perhaps they are reviewing legal precedent to ensure they
get a suitable sentence. But I doubt it. The "legal reasons" are probably "loop holes"/ diminished responsibility et al.

Don�t forget though they were found guilty of �causing or allowing the toddler's death�. They were cleared of murder.

So public scrutiny of the sentencing confined within the limits of the law following that verdict will cause high tensions at the highest levels. And rightly so.
