it also made the front page of the Guardian and Tony Blair was asked about it during PMQs, Of course he doesn't accept the figure.

The reason why Tony Blair did not accept the figure of 100,000 is because it's nonsense. Even the proponents of the figure say that there is a margin of error which makes the figure anywhere between 8,000 and 194,000. The sample on which the survey was based was far too small. I prefer to go by the widely and consistently reported and estimated figures of 11,000 to 20,000.
