Has america developed 1970's Soviet doctrine?

Why has he collective states of america adopted a course of action akin to the former Soviet Union with regard to issues relating to freedom of expression? It would appear that any negative remark or jest directed toward the "elected" "leader" of america results in a visit from the Men in White ( FBI ). If I were to imply that an injury resulting in termination of the cycle of inhaling and exhaling of aforementioned " leader " were an appropriate action to undertake, would this be deemed a serious threat to a nations security?; bearing in mind that any implied communication would not be considered a remark of truth or indeed value. I refer of course to the qualative value of said " leader " in terms of his capacity to spout utter drivel, be it very entertaining.

For clarity dear chap, the issue discussed was not a concurance with said leader, it was infact questioning the methodology of action on an assumed preconcieved threat to said leader. Please do read before you take action; however this may be a casing point for the manner in which many americans practice the process of voting.

I was under the assumption that any threat to the leader, including those that are implied would result in at least a visit from federal employees and in this present climate anything could happen.
