So they are all the same ?

I have observed over the last months condemnation of some on here ( and by tory politicians ) of Labour party politicians expenses claims ; suggesting that's one of the reasons we now need a tory Government .
Now that shadow government politicians have been shown as also having their snouts in the same trough
( unsuprisingly ) - what say you now - or will you remain silent on the matter .
By the way , I have no particular political leaning - i'm just curious to see where people now stand .

That was very commendable of Mrs T. She did however claw back the difference (and more) after the Tories gave her the heave-ho.
"A 40,000 a year ex gratia allowance available to all former prime ministers was introduced after strong personal representations by Baroness Thatcher about her own loss of earnings when she was ousted in November 1990."

Yep they are all the same, all out to get rich on the backs of the electorate.
What I often think about though is, what if the Conservatives had been in power during the same period that New Labour has been in power?
There would have been two illegal wars under the Tories, immigration completely out of control, under the Tories, widespread crime, under the Tories, an ever failing NHS, under the Tories, a crippling recession under the Tories, and now this 'snouts in the trough' affair under the Tories.
Had all these taken place under a Tory government, there would have been riots in the streets and the government yanked out of power long ago.
I wonder why these things do not happen when it is all down to Labour?

there was a recession under the Tories, a good deal of personal enrichment (expenses as such weren't an issue but only because we didn't know about them; instead you had cash in brown envelopes for people like Neil Hamilton)

plus increasing crime, and a struggling NHS. I'm not sure about the legality of Thatcher's wars, but I imagine you're right on that score, though.
There were riots in the streets and the Tories lost power. So will Labour but probably without the riots.
