Who was the BBC Correspondent who went on tv and said that the release by US forces of Shiite Laith al Khazali on 6th June was the best hope so far for the release of the 5 British hostages being held in Iraq?

The TV reporter was probably just following the official line from the Foreign office rather than getting it completely wrong himself. All the reports at the time said the release was helpful.

In any case they now think that those hostages were already dead.
