thanks.....I bloody hate them stories, was he safe and well?
yep :-)
How on earth did he manage to get 2 miles from home on his little bike?!
tigger....by pedalling.
It was a rhetorical question Sqad.
tigger......LOL LOL.....errm...wot...wot does rhetorical mean?
BACK-pedaling now.
I knew the answer but wanted to pose the question in a statement like way.
I heard he had gone missing once before.

I am so pleased that this story had a happy ending to it.

Mum Melanie, chatting to a friend in the street, looked around to check on him but he had vanished with his bike.

I see this happen all the time, especially when the youngsters are met out of school by their mothers. The mothers can be seen chatting and their off-spring are to be seen running all over the place, it frightens me to death in case they run into the road.

The same type of thing happens in the supermarket, the mothers are often busy looking on the shelves, chatting to a friend or on their mobiles, they then look around and their little ones are lost down another aisle, with a worried look of where's mummy on their tiny faces.

At this age you cannot take your eyes off them for an instant, they are so quick.

I would have thought someone would have noticed a five year old on there own earlier especially if he had been missing 10 hours. If I saw a 5 year old on there own I would think there was someting strange and I am sure I would ask him where his parents were.
I was at a country show the other week, thousands of people there and I heard a lady ask a little kid if he was OK as he seemed to be standing on his own and he was crying. In a flash another woman (I won't call her a lady) leapt out from a group of women she was chatting to and said "he's fine, he's with me" and as she went back to her friends I heard her call the lady an interfering bitch!

On an estate where I used to live, children of this boy's age are sent out to play on the street by their parents, some are much younger! One of the women allowed her 2 year old daughter to roam the streets with no clothes on whenever the weather was warm.
The sad fact is that if you were to try and help an apparently lost/distressed child you may get accused of all manner of awful things.

I am very glad this young boy was found unharmed :)
Yes horselady and Daffy I did think of that afterwards but I still think I would have told someone and done something.
Agree wendilla-I wouldn't care if someone had a go at me. If one of my grandchildren were lost I would like to think that someone would help them, as I would try to help a child.
