There is a story in one of the london free papers about a 10000 pound contract being put on one of the to men involved to blind him while in prison. So you can imagine the anger directed against these vile individuals will mean they wont be safe either in prison or if they give them new identities. I think its safe to say they will be hunted for pretty much all of their natural life. Oh and the final cost of bringing them all to justice could run to 6m let alone the cost of keeping them in jail plus what it costs to give them new identities. If i think there was a case for bringing back the death penalty was needed, look no further.
What is the world coming to. Now that they have released the identities of these monsters, they are going to change their identities to stop any vigilante attacks, which will cost us even more money. Any human rights they had should have been taken from them, the first moment that poor child was abused. There is no justice!
In some states of the U.S I believe there is still the death penalty. In extreme cases such as this, I think it should apply here. They should have been put on death row. But their sentence should be a long one, so that day and night, their thoughts would be dominated by their impending execution!

Just stop for a minute and think this through.
When these three are released from jail, do you really think it would be a good idea if their names and whereabouts were made public???
Say if that were to happen and a bunch of vigilantes were to hunt them down and exact 'street justice', do you think that thevpolice would simply turn a blind eye?
No... the perpetrators would be caught and convicted and a brand mew family would spend one Sunday a month visiting Dad in jail.
It's difficult to be dispassionate when you read of a case like this, but we HAVE to, otherwise we descend into anarchy.

I heard on the news that they are appealing their sentences. it doesn't happen often that a jail term is increased because the original sentence was lenient but in this case I can only hope it is increased substantially.
Common sense, justice and law are 3 words that don't seem to count for much in this country anymore.

If this stupid country would sort out its sentencing....i.e life meaning life and bring back the death penelty for scum like this, then they wouldnt need new identities, they would be rotting in jail and freeing them would never even be considered. He raped a 2 yeard old girl to add to this FFS and all he gets is 12 years???? I would get longer in jail for stealing something. Its ridiculous.
As always, everyone gets seriously heated about this issue, and mutters about 'death is too good for them, I'd pull the lever ...' and similar.
As I mentioned on another thread, emotion and the law do not go together, because that way is anarchy and vigilante hell.
An appropriate sentence should be issued and served, and if at the end of that, these people need protection by false identities, it should be offered - regardless of some eight-figure cost dreamed up by the media who fan the flames of everyone's righteous anger.
Revenge is not a legal process, it's the 'strongest' meting out their own 'justice' and it simply has no place in a civilsed society.

Talk about giving them new identities when they are released - THEY HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN SENTENCED YET!!!!!!
I hope to god all three of them are NEVER NEVER NEVER released.......................but you will always get the do gooders who will say 'there there never mind, you had a bad upbringing blah blah blah' - I am sorry but what they did to that poor baby is unforgiveable not to mention what the boyfriend and his brother did to their poor gran.
Three Shi$ Bags should be flushed away - FOR GOOD...

Err Den, I thought they had been sentenced ? This is what I understood was the sentences they had received - have I got this wrong?
The mother - 5 years minimum tariff on an indefinite sentence - means she can apply for release, but I doubt the parole board will grant it. I dont think she will be getting out early at all
The boyfriend - 10 year minimum tariff on an indeterminate sentence for the death of baby peter, but he also has a life sentence for the rape of a 2 year old. I really dont think this guy is ever getting out.
The brother of the boyfriend - 3 year mimum tariff on an indeterminate sentence - so again, will only be allowed out if he convinces the parole board that he should be.
