He wasn't allowed to stay *because* he had a cat - there were other reasons but for some bizarre reason the cat was considerred too.

The consideration of the cat was clearly ridiculous but wasn't the main point.

But we don't know what the other facts were because the Mail was too busy falling over itself to twist it into a "soft touch Britain" story.

To the obvious great delight of all it's fans who love to see their preconceptions reinforced.

Good of the Daily Mail to provide us with a file picture of a cat, seeing that the cat's name could not be revealed because of privacy procedures.

I presume if it is ever interviewed on TV, it's face will be blacked out and it's meow will be dubbed by a cat actor.
