Gordon Brown at the Cenotaph
Did anyone else notice that when G Brown laid his wreath, he didn't bow his head? Just shows what he thinks of those who gave their lives!

As far as the Politicians are concerned, they should not let the hypocrites attend Remembrance Day
What I would like to see on TV is a panel made up of our politicians, facing an audience of the families and friends of our service men and women.
Maybe then we could watch these politicians try and squirm out of answering, when asked, why our troops are out in Afghanistan.

AOG
Political heads have to make decisions, some will be bad, some indifferent and some good, but the bottom line is, that decisions have to be made.
One is very popular when one makes popular decisions, but unpopular when they are not that good.
Neither me or you AOG would like to have to make decisions when they turn out to be bad or unpopular.
Casualties always happen in war.....military and civiilan.

AOG, how did the general public view Churchill after the Dardanelles?
How did they view him at the outbreak of war?
After the Naarvik campaign?
Churchill was deeply unpopular in Britain at the time (Halifax was more favoured) were they right?
How do you think the families of the men of the 8th army felt after he denuded them of troops (ust as they were about to rout the Italians) for the disastrous campaign in Salonika?
P.S.
Churchill was an unelected prime minister also.
Politicians govern, that's just the way of it, at least until someone can think of a better way.

AOG -I didnt phrase my initial post properly -I attempted to rectify it by posting underneath meaning what she thought Gordon Brown thought of the people........... theres always one isnt there *sigh*
BTW -should I wish to post a thread I shall under my own volition and not at the suggestion of the News 'monitor'.
I used to enjoy the News section-why cant people use it as a debating/discussion forum without highlighting particular posts in the manner which AOG did?
