Indeed. We destroyed their country, so now we should pay the price. Same with Iraq.
No.
That's not completely accurate.

We just see Southern Afghanistan on the TV and particularly Helmand because it's where our troops are.

In the North the French are actually sending Police not soldiers to help train the local forces.
No.

Could anyone tell me what contributions Afghan immigrants make to the economy of this country. Afghanistan has always been a dangerous place.......ask the Russians.
No

Even British citizens don't live "here in safety"
Squad, Cats? (apologies to Sandy for interrupting)
You seem to be confusing economic migrants and refugees again sqad.

Thankfully nobody asked my mother in law that when she arrived as a 6 year old Austrian refugee fleeing Hitler.
lofty.....still holding back.....you know that I am a coward......LOL
jake....please explain the difference.

To my simple mind, immigrants are either legal or illegal and the majority of illegal ones are Afghans.

As for you 6yr old mother -in-law (as she was then) I don't remember many Germans seeking asylum in the UK after D-day.

Life is a lottery Jake, it is purely a matter of chance where you are born and who your parents are.
Anyway to answer the question -no we shouldn't.

The bulk of the responsibility still rests with the Americans - we are rather the side-kicks in this relationship.

However our involvement in the country should be seen as a factor when making decisions about refugee status. Especially where people have placed themselves in danger by assisting British troops
Do you really not understand the difference??!!!

Refugees don't want to leave their homes, their famillies but are forced to because of politics or war - My mother in law would have been killed - she didn't speak English didn't know anybody but would have ended up dead in Hitlers Austria - so they ran

So did Einstein and may other German scientists.

Economic migrants come looking to make money and get rich

I seriously don't believe that you're too stupid to understand that distinction sqad - I assume you're just trying to wind me up.

Life is a lottery is usually said by people who are winners and want to "pull the ladder up behind them"

Frigtened - little people - is that really you?
jaje....LOL LOL.....to bloody right it is.

Yes, I suppose I am a winner, but have worked hard for it. I do not want to "pull the ladder up" behind me as I support equal opportunities for the people of the UK. However I do not want "spoon feeding" to be established, as I had to work hard and pay my taxes..........no problem there.

But the UK has become a different place in my opinion and I don't want to get into the usual arguments of Islam, Education, Population, Health Service ect.but allowing immigrants, unsupervised, unregulated is something that i am strongly against.
I am married to an immigrant, but he's supervised and regulated by me!! ;o)
