...or will the catholic church behind the scenes be able to allowed to let those guilty priests/bishops quietly retire (or step aside in one case). Also should the enquiry externd to other parishes or archdioces in Ireland to uncover abuse that may have occured (The Christian Brothers / Magdalene laundries etc).

We all know what will happen.

Justice would be the Catholic church banned from being anywhere near children, they have always done it and will continue to.

ymg/kunni....quite right, just don't start me off on Catholicism.

The whole religious thing is a joke........mass hysteria.
Someone I know has just received 95k from the Catholic church because of the abuse he suffered.
The Bishops who didn't speak should be charged with Attempting to subvert Justice. But no hope of that in Priest ridden Ireland,I'm afraid.

As a memeer of the Church of England, I cannot understand why the Catholic priests can be celebate and banned from physical relationships with anyone and banned from marrying and having children, yet pretend to understand the problems and concerns of contraception, failed marriages, divorce, wife beating, etc, what experience do they draw on when being the comforter or confidant to someone in trouble?
they the R/C church have always covered up for erring priests, back in the 60s a pal got pregnant by the young parish priest, she had letters from him admitting he was the father, they didnt believe her but when the child was 10 they paid for her educatoin at a good R/C boarding school after the family threatened to go to the newspapers, and the cost of university, sadly the child never met the father who was wisked away to Texas USA before the birth, but this priest died at 38 and was buried in Ireland, they did get to visit the grave.
They will never stop the cover up because it is so widespread and dangerous too.
oo Dee Sa, didn't you used to be the ed here? Or am i mixing you up/
