Oh yes. That would save the possibility of injury to British soldiers. Just blow up everything without even being sure what is there. After all the civilians who live there are not real people anyway so a little colateral death would not be an cause for concern. Raining destruction from the sky will surely win the hearts and minds of the Afghanis.
Such a shame that the CIA destroyed the democratically elected government of Iran in the 1950s. Iran could have been a catalyst to democratic change in the Middle East instead of a seat of decay. All over the British rights to continue their theft of Iranian oil.
Then they trained the Taliban to fight the Soviets and walked away when they were no longer required. That was all about oil too. The US never learnt anything and went on to destroy any chance of order in Iraq.
No surprises the foreign policy toward the Saudis is about oil too. They still back the compliant Saudi regime while it is the Saudis that fund the expansion of Wahabist Islam across the golbe. Behind the back of the West the Saudis must be rolling in laughter. Remember 19 of the 20 9/11 perpetrators were Saudi. Not Afghans, not Iraqis.
If you think Britain can learn from the US then think again.
