Isn't this march (if it goes ahead) an ideal opportunity under the anti-terrorism laws, to round up and arrest all those on the march?

At least the police will know that all those taking part are anti-British extremists, so therefore potential terrorists.

no we should let the locals deal with it!
Actually no...

It's a great way for the security services to build up a better intelligence picture of who's protesting, enabling them to keep tabs on extremists. If, however, they are found to be shouting slogans deemed to be inciting racial hatred, then they should be arrested, but if you arrest all of them, then the next time BNP marched, people would reasonable expect that they too should also be arrested on sight, and then the whole 'freedom of speech' argument would have to be re-examined.
No definitely not, I am against this march as I have shown in other posts, but this would only "endear" the radicals to would be fundamentalists, let the people of WB stand as usual with silent dignity but with their backs to them?

Exactly. They should pretend that they're not even there. Don't rise to them. Treat them with the contempt they deserve. Extremists, being very simple people are ALWAYS hoisted by their own petards when the spotlight is on them.

Even better, the TV news crews should sail past them like they don't exist. The people of WB have shown great dignity over the past year - don't rise to the bait!
Yes ignore then, let them build up more support and grow in numbers, let them walk all over us, isn't, that what the British do best!!
you aint showing much solidarity for our forces abroad, telephony
I thought it was pretty obvious that I was being sarcastic!! I think they should be charged with treason and deported!
yes, thats twice you;ve said that, well done.

deported to where ?
Jeering, heckling or worse will build up far more supporters for this group than just ignoring it. I think that is what they want - a reaction which they can use as "evidence" in radicalising other young people - to do anything other than ignore it will be seen as evidence of Islamophobia (as other people can march - why can't they, and also the British obviously don't care about dead Muslims in other countries?) and will get them more supporters.

We need to stand by our values of civil liberties - as much as that can be galling sometimes, and let the march happen, but ignore it and them - knee jerk reactions and calls to imprison or deport (to Bexley - where the leader of the group comes from) will gain them far more supporters than any other response.
I said it before in another thread, deport them to the country they support if they are claiming to be "British" or their country of origin.
I agree it should be totally ignored especially by the media, some hope they'll splash it everywhere!
If I support Bermuda, can I be deported to there then please?
"deport them to the country they support if they are claiming to be "British" or their country of origin"

is islam a country now then ?
you don't need to be deported there just get on a plane if you can afford to live there!!

/// then the next time BNP marched, people would reasonable expect that they too should also be arrested on sight,///

I didn't know that the BNP had been involved or are likely to be involved in terrorism.
The BNP at least support the country that they live in. They are obviously racist and misguided and I don't support them in any way but they would get more support in WB than the muslims
well they usually deny it dont they in there unique cloak and dagger way.
liike the terence gavan episode.
Deny what?
