Judging by the recent small amount of answers to each question, is the News section becoming rather boring, and contributors are now beginning to lose interest?

perhaps the questions are becoming a trifle repetitive and predictable?
er, not this one, of course. And as soon as I click on Submit, that will double the number of responses.

Subject "Terry has lost captaincy".

Interesting.
I've noticed the busiest time for submissions to the serious subjects is during the working hours. At week-ends they are sometimes non existant. This does not seem to affect the trivial subjects which somehow needs so little brainpower as to elicit a one line answer or view.

So that is the reason?

If one wants to get in touch with a company via the telephone, one has to go through the usual minefield of button pressing.

One finally gets through, only to be told "All our operatives are busy at the moment, one will be with you shortly, thank you for holding"

What they don't tell you is the fact that their operatives are messing about on AnswerBank etc.
lol....hadn't thought of that.
aog, looking down the list, we have some q’s from you as follows:

1. should migrants earn their benefits
2. foreign gps
3. terrorism police in mosques
4. gay africans
5. taliban assault
6. drinking alcohol would make muslims tolerant

as jno says, the xenophobia gets a bit samey and predictable dunnit. i spose people get bored of contributing to your threads. especially when you are not actually interested in their views and opinions.
I think I'm suffering from 'O.P. Apathy'.
I pop in, see the same old..same old, and pop out again.
I do, occasionally leave a thought; one which is usually ignored and receives no response from the question author.
Jack....it's not just AOG that is guilty of that. Most 'news' users ignore the people that frequent CB...
nobody's posted here since Ankou at 14.35, I see...
jno - :o)
ummmm - I used to frequent this section quite regularly but it has started to become disappointingly monotonous.

As I flick through the morning newspapers, I can almost divvy out the headlines amongst the 'regular' question setters; a depressing thought only surpassed in its' intensity by clicking on the news topic and finding my predictions have been boringly accurate. (If only I was so prescient when choosing my lottery numbers.)

1.I doubt if there is a real lose of interest but the thread is frequently lost because the
original question is frequently not addressed.
2. Another problem ,as jackthehat says, is that if an opinion is challenged it often
doesn't get a response.
3. If a serious question is asked it should get a serious answer not bad language or
an assumed clever answer that few can understand.
When I first stumbled across this site , it was not uncommon to see threads with hundred plus contributions .

That was in the days when there were people like ' Ward Minter ' on here ( perhaps he is still here , is he ? )
Any way , oddly enough though , i seem to recall the questions were ethnic related.

Nothing has changed then - apart from the number of contributors on the threads
It's interesting AOG that you judge AB on quantity rather than quality.

I've noticed this about you several times before. You seem to judge a question (and the person who asks it) by the number of answers it receives, and regard posters as more successful than others if their reponses receive 100+ answers.

Is that really what you think?

A question about capital punishment or the guilt of Madeleine McCann's parents will almost always attract a lot of answers. Doesn't mean they have more merit than a question about, say, the credit crunch or the war if Afghanistan though. Or does it?

I'm genuinely interested.
