What comes out of this situation is how organised the pirates are. Its not just a few here and there operating independently but a structure of immense size and planning. They are able to use others to get there message across whether its people in the media or medical professions.
That's why the government is right to refuse a ransom demand. Each payment to them increases their capital to buy arms and influence in the community.
If the sole reason why the pirates are doing what they do is to preserve their fishing stocks why can't they set up a fishing industry to sell to the world and behave honestly.

All true above but the main reason the governement should not pay is that if they do it'll be open season on Brits in that area. It's bad for these two but the pirates will know to nt bother kidnapping Brits as they get no dosh for them. Hopefully in the end the pirates will accept that they are getting nowt and let them go.
