Gordon Brown today announced that he is appointing a new advisor to the House of Lords. Lord Geezer will be special advisor to the government on wooing Tory voters. Has Brown gone too far with cronyism this time?

Geezer indignantly refused the honour, however, stating that he would rather serve in hell under a Tory government than in the Lords under Labour.
