I see in the News that the US is helping nations clear up weapons grade Uranium, eg Chile and Ukraine for example. Is there any useful peacetime application for Uranium-235? What will they do with it? Must it be stored somewhere or can it be used in buclear power generation for example?

Yep U235 can be used in reactors that's the whole Iran "it's for a bomb" "No it's for a reactor" argument

Plutonium can't really be used in reactors and doesn't have a significant peace use - we have about 100 tons of the stuff up at Sellafield we don't know what to do with.
Drop it on the Sweaties. There's a good use for it.
They'll just deep-fry it and feed it to their kids.
