Hello Oldgit
You will have to bear with me again as I feel a long response coming on. It will probably be disjointed and since my kids are here I don't have much time also ignore the spelling mistakes. And I am at a disadvantage as the posts will be continuous with gaps of time inbetween, I hope you read the whole lot again when it is complete.
And I don't like to use the words 'white' and 'black' constantly, I don't like that this is so racially based but you have not left me much choice. However I point out that I would stand up for any cause, for anyone regardless of colour.
I had a quick skim through the other thread and I would like to say that, why should I grow a thick-skin? I believe in standing up against what I perceive as a wrong. If i am myself wrong then by all means voice your opinion directly to me but by no means am I the one who is 'feeding' you Oldgit. I don't have any more intention of engaging in a long discussion with you after this.

Dear Seadragon, I probably agree with everything you've said (I say probably, because there's no way I'm going to read all of it).
Having said that, watching someone beating their head against a brick wall, is not particularly edifying, and most of us here have learnt that AOG is exactly that: a brick wall.

Jack - I note the 'Dear' (I don't think it is meant in an affectionate manner). I'm not being 'snippy' and I don't see how you are being of assistance when you say - 'Please don't come onto another thread tomorrow complaining....'

Rojash - I am just doing my bit in this long struggle against racism and prejudice. I'm not looking for support but I really cannot figure out why everyone is anti-me at the moment? I stand for a good cause. And I am not here all the time or continually making posts or threads. I don't think there is much patience on this site.
Tamborine - The essay exercise yesterday has produced quite an usual effect on me and I feel I have healed. In fact I feel revolutionalized. So I will have a laugh with you and I will continue to stand against anyone who stands against me.
Flip-Flop - If Oldgit was not under the protection of anonymity, he would probably have his head kicked in. Anonymity is a disadvantage here. He would be fired if he worked. Sue Mills, the bungling mayor had to apologize for writing an offensive online remark about immigrants on her Facebook page.
I am just asking for more accountabliliy or responsibility if you choose to be controversial and do not realise when you over-step the mark.

And I would just like to say that I think it is very rude of anyone who says that they couldn't be bothered to read the post. If I can be bothered to write it at length and you cannot do me the justice of reading all of it, then at least have the respect to withhold your comment.

You may have found it cathartic but it certainly won't acheive anything positive beyond that...........

If you believe that you are wielding a flaming sword of truth and are attempting to counter the racism you encounter here..........I hope you have brought a flask and some sandwiches because you'll be here a while !

This is a question and answer site. Ask questions and give answers and opinions in the spirit of debate. The 'news' section would be pretty dull if everyone agreed. I don't agree with much of what AOG says but I do respect the fact that it's his right to form his own opinions.

Ummm I agree with some of what he says (the bits I've read) which is why I give him the benefit of doubt and explanation. Do you think that if I thought he was a 'brick wall' I would at all bother? I come across people with his views often but given Oldgit enough intelligence to at least merit a response.

Seadragon...AOG has his worth as he brings up history & geography lacking in modern biased education today.....am amazed at my curry-house staff who didn't even know the origins of Pakistan or the part played by Britain in setting up their independant state.
