Seems soldiers are getting let off speeding offences now

Seems to be a new criteria - should we extend this to Coast guards and firemen and off duty Policement too?

How many Coast guards, firemen and off duty Policement (perhaps you mean Policemen) have been killed in the last few years?
Surely it is more important that he keeps his licence, so that he can carry out his duties in Afghanistan.
If all a soldier had to do to escape being sent to Afghanistan, was to do a little speeding in his car, it would not be safe on our roads,

This seems the start of a similar tradition where a sitting government will declare an amnesty on prosecutions where there's the potential for bad publicity in the run up to an election.
If Mr Straw is looking for his spine he may find it Rupert Murdoch's desk draw
Lets hope he doesn't continue to lose other parts of his anatomy in the next week
