Not rocket science. The last Government inrodced them, they were not a success, but they couldn't admit they weren't. Eat for a new Government to scrap.
Great for the house owners. However, we now have thousands of people that did the HIPs with no work and many many companies looking at going into liquidation. can't win em all.
Well it kept the unemployment figures down, didn't it? I do feel sorry for those that were unemployed, but it was a non job really. It was so obvious that HIBs were a total waste of time and money.
I have no sympathy for the owners of the HIP companies. I qualified as a Home Inspector 2 days before the government decided to make Home Condition Reports optional instead of mandatory. It cost me £11000 to qualify and all I am able to do now is try and pick up work as an energy assessor which wouldnt be too bad if it wasnt for the greedy folk at HIP companies driving down the price of EPC's to £30 of which I get £14.
