Sorry? And the parents were where? Surely the kids would be crying whilst being "mauled"?
I give up...

jedimistress - foxes do not kill 'for fun' - that is a myth put about by farmers and country people who like to hunt them. The notion of killing for 'fun' is a concept far beyond the intellect of anything of the level of a fox.
When a fox gets into a hen house and finds a dozen chickens, he will kill all twelve. Not because he wants one, and the rest are 'for fun'. If undisturbed the fox will take his kills away one by one and bury them for future consumption. More often, he is distrurbed and leaves with either none, or maybe one, the rest are left, giving rise to the nonsense that he 'killed them for fun'.
Foxes kill to eat, like all wild carnovires - humour and sadism does not enter into it.

"I knew it would be a matter of time." What would be??? That you would totally misconstrue the reports of, quote, "an apparent fox attack."
I've looked up several online stories about this, and nowhere does it actually say that a fox was seen injuring the kids. In fact, none of the reports quotes any witness(es), therefore it's a bit of a mystery as to how the fox gets blamed?
Please correct me if anything I've stated is wrong?

Whilst im no fox expert- i do find it strange that foxes would enter a house, and make their way upstairs?
The only thing I can think of why they might have attacked the babies is maybe they smelt milk on them??
I do find the whole story very very suspicious though. However here's hoping the babies make a full recovery.
