England Expects…………..........
“Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
Or close the wall up with our English dead…….
And you, good men, whose limbs were made in England, show us here the mettle of your pasture.
I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,
Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit; and upon this charge
Cry God for Harry ! England and Saint George” (William Shakespeare)
"Arm yourselves, and be ye men of valour, and be in readiness for the conflict; for it is better for us to perish in battle than to look upon the outrage of our nation and our altar.” (Winston Churchill)
“We shall fight them on the beaches, we shall fight them on the ground and in the air …..we shall them fight on the field…..we shall never surrender!... Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duty….. so men will still say 'This was their finest hour” (Winston Churchill)
What is our aim?... Victory... Victory at all costs. Victory in spite of all terror. Victory, however long and hard the road may be. For without victory, there is no survival" (Winston Churchill)
"England! awake! awake! awake! Jerusalem thy sister calls! Why wilt thou sleep the sleep of death, and close her from thy ancient walls?" (William Blake)
"If I should die, think only this of me, that there's some corner of a foreign field, that is forever England” (Rupert Brooke)
"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother......." (William Shakespeare)
"England expects that Every Man will do his duty" (Horatio Nelson)
“Come On England !” (Olddutch)
What do you say to our Footballers as they face their moment of truth against Slovenia ?

Remember Rooney - if we go home you really WILL need to go and live in a caravan and grow a big bushy beard. And you will lose the Nike contract.
And Crouch, if we go home in disgrace you will lose the Pringles contract.
Even I, Mr Capello, wont be able to appear in any more Nationwide adverts with those two guys from Little Britain.
So this applies to all of you, go home today and you can say goodbye to your advertising deals.
You will be left earning "only" your salary.
Just imagine that.
So turn it on today so your WAGS can keep up their lifestyle.

That England's gonna
Throw it away
Gonna blow it away
But I know they can play
Cos' I remember
Three lions on the shirt
Jules Rimet still gleaming
44 Years of hurt
Never stoppped me dreaming
So many jokes, so many jeers
But all those oh so nears
Wear you down
Through the years
Three lions on a shirt
Jules Rimet still gleaming
44 Years of hurt
Never stopped me dreaming
I know that was then
But it could be again
It's coming home
It's coming home
It's coming
Football's coming home
Three lions on a shirt
Jules Rimet still gleaming
44 Years of hurt
Never stopped me dreaming (David Baddiel/Frank Skinner; Music: Ian Broudie)

Come on England we need to sort it out,
Put the champs down,
Pull your finger out,
Leave the wags alone,
Set aside your ego,
We're tired of bragging about 40 odd years ago,
We need a victory, quick, fast,
Tired of getting a kick - oi!,
World cup 2010,
Don't wanna see ya slip past,
Think about the future,
Surely it's the right time,
I wanna see you win it in my lifetime,
Shout, Shout, let it all out,
Come on England!!!
These are the things I could do without,
Come on,
I'm talking to you - come on,
Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!
(Dizzee Rascal and James Corden)
