Yet another kiddie fiddler has managed to ply his evil trade and has been able to groom at least one more innocent child right under its mother's nose. He has been "severely punished" with a wet lettuce leaf and given 4 months inside. (He may well have been released by the time I've finished typing!)

It proves, does it not, that the present system is deeply flawed? Maybe the introduction of "Sarah's Law", where paedos are "named, shamed" and the address of the sewer they're presently living in is made known to the wider community, would nip such atrocities in the bud?

Or do the "bleeding hearts" win the day again by arguing that the "human rights" of the pervert are far more precious than the safety of innocent children? Woops, no, we daren't risk having vigilante patrols on the streets. No, let our kids suffer instead, eh?

If they can indeed be treated and cured, fine - but no child should ever be exposed to a known risk. Offenders should be removed from society until their treatment is complete - and if they are found to be incurable, they should be locked up for life.

There is a large amount of child abuse committed by people who were abused themselves a children. It warps the way they see human contact and demonstrations of love. In effect, they believe that 'this' is how it is acceptable to behave, and actually it is 'how' to behave.

It requires time, patience and money to 'correct' their world-view and with it follows a re-alignment of their sexual focus.

Surely, that has to be worth the effort; salvaging damaged people and preventing them damaging others in their turn ?

What Paedophiles do is terrible to say the least, it is not in the same league as Homosexuals as someone in the thread pointed out as it is usually two consenting adults. A Peadophile preys on innocent children who have not consented to there disgusting kicks and don't understand what they are doing to them when they are doing it.
However, the problem of a Paedophile usually stems from their own childhood, either they themselves had been abused or something at an early or later age triggering it off. It is a psychological problem and can be stifled(not stopped) by chemical castration or ongoing therapy.....and they always need to be kept an eye on.
Believe it or not these guys are human beings but there way of thinking about sex and relationships and what it means has been corrupted and sadly shall never alter.

It's a very convenient excuse and makes them every bit as guilty as those who didn't allegedly suffer abuse

As a child my father hit me with his belt, and as a young child if I soiled my underwear he would rub my nose in it (like people do with dogs).......but it didn't make me do those things to my kids

For me there's no way of 'dressing this up'........a child abuser is a child abuser regardless of his past

They should not be segregated in prison, they've 'made their bed' and should have to face the consequences

Methinks the paedo sympathisers would see things differently if one of their own had suffered such abuse

Perhaps some of the 'paedo-sympathisers' you are so scathing about, actually DO have experience, in some form or other, and have made it their business to think about the 'realities' of addressing the problem rather than just resorting to the thick-headed knee-jerk reactions so beloved of certain sections !

One of those same old threads again. Sarah's Law is a dreadful idea and will bring out all the thickos with lynch mob mentality who will enjoy, yes enjoy, every minute of seeing someone suffer.

Child abuse is absolutely dreadful and I don't know anyone personally who sympathisers with paedeophiles!!

I don't enjoy watching violence Joe Luke, and that extends to watching someone I really hated being tortured. Unfortunately, people with low, lynch mob mentality are usually those that have no aversion to violence.

We have laws and those laws protect us from criminals and from the sort of behaviour you think is OK.

What you are looking for is taking law into your own hands.
