Its a disgusting thing to do and lowers out techniques to that of the terrorists.

I hope they sent the head back and not waiting until the end of the conflict!

So are people expected to sweep up the dregs of the suicide bombers to send back to their leaders?

The Ghurkas are an honorable people this was not a malicious act. He was to provide evidence of the death of that particular person. Maybe he was a little OTT, but under fire what would you do.
