When this was first suggested, the then Justice department said they would fiercely resist this claim - I hope they continue to do so. If he hadn't done what he did, he wouldn't be inside, and other prisoners wouldn't seek to harm him. How dare he? - just deserts is more like it. Trauma? - think about the two little girls, Ian, and the trauma they suffered, from which they and their families can never recover.

So yous think it okay for prisoners to inflict their own punishment as and when the whim takes them? What level of punishment is acceptable, a severe beating, permanent hadicap, murder even? The English legal system was used and a gaol sentence imposed, what gives folk in prison the special right to ignore that fact?
He'll probably win it, his "human rights" etc, nice little earner for Legal AId scavengers. Don't forget, only a couple of weeks ago, a group of HM's guests won compensation for food poisoning after a batch of dodgy egg butties.
Who'll get the money? He's not going anywhere. Prisoners on life sentences should be stripped of their assets, past and future, that would make the case pointless.
