In these times of austerity, it is heartening to see the British public generously donating to the victims of the Pakistan flood.

It's an offence under section 8 of the Census Act 1920 not to answer the Census questions with the exception of some relating to religion and I do not know anyone who has been prosecuted since I tend not to ask them if they have or no.
Anyway the fact is we are in a better postion than those unfortunate to have been affected by the floods and it does not matter how many Pakistani folk are in this country, we are able to help and some of us have chosen to do so.

At the risk of being pedantic, no one goes around pipping horns during Ramadan, coz they haven't the energy. You are probably referring to eid, which is the festival that follows the end of Ramadan. It is surprising, if you lived in Oldham, you were not aware of your fellow citizens customs. Glodwick seems to be coping without you.
