I quite like Beckham, he's not the brightest but his heart is in the right place..... bless him.
Not keen on his misssus but can tolerate her as long as she never, ever sings again.
I think it's the media coverage. I get very fed up of seeing these guys in the media for nothing more than going on holiday or getting a new frock... But I feel that way about most 'celebrities'... So I just stopped buying newspapers!
They have been arguably successful in their chosen careers, high profile people and the majority of the British public cannot deal with this. They ( the public) would rather see failure than success......in my opinion.
I have no idea. I dislike him a bit but that's only because he came out the hard done by victim through the whole Loos thing and she took it all in the neck. her choice to stick with it though, no skin off my nose. She's the big earner now and good on her. as far as collections go, I love her clothes and despite being incredibly thin I do think she looks marvellous.
The tall poppy syndrome... We build up these folk, then we love to knock them down once we think they've grown too tall.
Personally, I like David a lot. Victoria I like, but what I do dislike is all that pouting & posturing and fashion stuff. Why can't she just smile and stop posing - people would like her more.
I don't know, but they do seem quite ubiquitous - He's a very reasonable football player, but his wife - well, I just want to sit her down and give her a few good dinners she's so thin, and looks so miserable with it! I also stopped buying newspapers because of the so-called 'celebrity' rubbish, but I do like to leaf through them now and again at the library - my wife leaves me in there while she goes shopping, she says i put 'rubbish' in the trolley and spend too much.
Beckham was one of the best players in the world and is part of that elite. The UK produces the best music, Vic (as she is known to her friends) is part of that success story. They're both body beautiful, that's why they attract so much jealousy.
Think David is a genuinely nice guy. Think Victoria could be OK if she didn't pose and acted naturally. but certainly don't see her a a 'body beautiful' person - far from it. Am certainly not jealous of her.
Perhaps it is the feeling that 'there are more deserving cases' who haven't achieved the same level of fame.
I can't comment on David Beckham because I know nothing about football, but to a degree I can understand why some feel jealous of Victoria Beckham, because of the five Spice Girls, she was obviously the least talented (and to be the least talented of the Spice Girls is pretty strong condemnation).
I don't think it's jealousy. I would rather be me than VB. I don't crave the limelight, fame or fortune. I don't begrudge people who do and manage to achieve it.
