I'm sorry ummmm, but after some of the living conditions I've spent months at a time in, it would take a hell of a lot for me to feel much sympathy. If the atheletes were paying for this out of their own pocket (ala holidays) then I would be a bit more understanding.
Okay ummmm, from a safety perspective, there is a lot to be desired I agree. But with regards to cleanliness, if it's that messy that you cannot live with it, then clean it yourself. Your right though I chose my job, and they chose theirs.
There are also worries about security.
The attacks in Mumbai have made a lot of foreigners/westeners very twitchy about the levels of personal security they can expect whilst competing.
If the living conditions are not up to speed there could be sanitation issues which are a legitimate concern if you ask me. They don`t call it Delhi Belly for nothing! I got a nice dose which lasted a fortnight last summer from Mumbai and that was in a 5 star hotel. Seems a shame they have had their big opportunity to host the games and it`s all going a bit pear-shaped.
