Smoking in Pubs

Its not sexy when you puke JJ.Have you been in a pub full of Turks (steady) smoking the strongest baccy in the world? Not sexy and neither were they :)

Well as a " weak addict" Loosehead, what is the harm in giving people the choice of smoking in pubs where it is allowed or not. If you don't like it don't go there but banning smoking everywhere is dictatorial and unfair to small publicans and us smokers.
Even I wouldn't enjoy the strong smell of Turkish Cigarettes Dris.

I stand in the pub swinging a spiked-steel ball on a 6ft chain. I enjoy it, it's hazardous to others, if you don't like it go and stand somewhere else ... smoker mentality?

I know it's an addiction, but hey, chew some fkin' gum or summat.

I wouldn't vote for the smoking ban to be overturned.......and I'm a smoker. Just don't count on your local staying open......

Ok overall there are 80% non smokers but the sorts of people that attend pubs etc tend to be more like 50% smokers. No pub is going to bar 50% of it's potential customers, therefore there would be no "non smoking" pubs, QED prior to the ban, there was nothing stopping a bar being non smoking but thet'd have been foolish to. Many non smokers tolerated it in the old days but now we have non smoking pubs, our clothes and hair do not reek and we are used to it there is no going back. "Dictatorial" is what we had up to the ban, ie non smokers where forced to endure or stay at home.

Sometimes when H fires up I get that sweet smell that makes you think I wouldnt mind a draw but it soon passes -I dont miss them at all and H is a real heavy smoker yet he has never (!!!) complained about going out for a fag as he just has a few draws and then nips it so he's not smoking as much.He much prefers the smoke free pubs and again (!!!) and I dont jest .

No Naz. I smoke so I go to a Smoking Pub. You don't smoke so you go to a non smoking pub. It's quite simple really but as ever, it appears the PC brigade and holier than thou non smokers feel they are always in the right. Leave us alone.

there where no non smoking pubs chrissa. The odd one tried it but as I explained above it was not viable.

JJ-I know youre not thick so I dont know what part you didnt understand however just to play along.I (me) didnt find (like) being in a pub where the the smokers (fag reekers) were reeking (smoking ) fags (cigs) which smelt odious (minging) due to the fact the cigs (fags) were full of rank (stinky) bacccy (tobacco) thus rendering the premises like a brothel (wh0rehouse) not that ive been in one-so no it wasnt sexy (stimulating) for me.I know you get it.

lol dris...why does that not surprise me. So where are all the people who wouldn't go in pubs before the ban, as they don't seem to be good customers now.

Maybe it's just my little corner of the country where we have a low regard for rules and conventions.

I've never smoked ... ever! ... but I'd like Brussels to leave us alone.

Or, just dictate to the rest of the country. Leave Sussex alone !!

Craft-I gave up when I had a serious chest infection 8yrs ago so i see both sides.I choose along with H not to have smoking in our house here nor in Spain (where remarkably no-one would ever deem to fire up in your house so its not even awkward) Mind you its warmer:) I laso didnt smoke when I was pregnant and for a year after -but its actually easy when you cant catch your breath -best thing it ever did for me that chest infection... !

JJ -thought you would understand :)
